ABOUT THE WINE
A Sauternes 1er Cru Classé which failed to live up to its classification until Canadian Hamilton Narby acquired it in 1981, and set about transforming it into one of the region's finest estates. Comprised of 85 hectares of vines on a hillside above the village of Sauternes, Guiraud is a property with the potential to rival Château d'Yquem, producing wines which balance rich flavour with exceptional delicacy.
TASTING NOTES
Superb with blue cheese.
FRIARWOOD SAYS
2005 was an outstanding vintage for Sauternes.

TASTING NOTES
Notes of baked apple, lemon tart, dried pineapple and beeswax makes this beautifully unusual and distinct Sauternes that bursts with fruit, but with a spicy backbone as a long finish. This one’s to pair with cheeseboards and rich, perhaps spicy chutneys.
FOOD PAIRINGSuperb with blue cheese.
