ABOUT THE WINE
Château Figeac, now recognised as Premier Grand Cru Classé ‘A’, is one of Saint-Émilion’s most iconic estates, prized for its Cabernet-dominant blend – a rarity on the Right Bank. Its gravel-rich terroir, close to the border with Pomerol, gives the wine its signature finesse and longevity. The 2018 vintage was a triumph, combining generous ripeness with remarkable energy and structure. Under Frédéric Faye’s direction, this vintage is a modern classic – deeply expressive and built to last.
TASTING NOTES
Aromatically vibrant, with ripe blackcurrant, wild blueberry, graphite, crushed herbs and exotic spice. The palate is powerful yet impeccably balanced, revealing layers of black fruit, dark chocolate, cedar and floral nuance. The tannins are firm but beautifully polished, and the finish is long, fresh and mineral-driven. Outstanding ageing potential.
FOOD PAIRING
Ideal with beef Wellington, roast venison, or truffle-infused mushroom dishes. Decanting for at least two hours is recommended if drinking before 2030.
