ABOUT THE WINE
Domaine Antonin Guyon is one of the Côte d’Or’s most esteemed family domaines, founded in the 1960s with parcels from Gevrey-Chambertin to Meursault. Les Charmes-Dessus is the upper section of Meursault’s famed 1er Cru Les Charmes, high on the slope just below Perrières—prime terroir for tension and finesse. Hand-harvested grapes are sorted at the cellar; fermentation takes place in oak at 18–20°C (64–68°F) with bâtonnage twice weekly. The wine then ages 15 months in French oak (≈30% new) to build texture while preserving precision.
Vintage 2023 in Burgundy delivered ripe, pristine fruit with lively natural freshness—ideal for an elegant, finely etched Meursault.
TASTING NOTES
Bright golden-green hue. Aromas of pear, white peach and citrus zest layered with acacia/honey, toasted almond and a hint of wet stone. The palate is rich yet taut, combining Meursault creaminess with chalky, saline drive; excellent depth, focus and precision. Long, mineral finish. Enjoy now for its vibrancy or cellar 5–10 years.
FOOD PAIRING
A superb match for fish or poultry in creamy sauces, seared scallops, or mushroom fricassée; also lovely with Comté or aged Gruyère.
