ABOUT THE WINE
Bodega Monteviejo is owned and run by the Pere-Verge Family who also owns various other Chateaux in Pomerol, including Chateau Montviel and the world famous Chateau La Violette. Monteviejo is a true expression of Argentinian character, made by the world famous winemaker Marcelo Pelleriti. The wines made at this very special property in Argentina are treated with the same commitment and care as those produced back home in Bordeaux. The vineyards, over 100 hectares, are located in the Tunuyan region, just 80km south of the city of Mendoza. Their aim is to create wines that can compete with the world's best. The yields are kept low, with vines planted at a density of 5,500 vines per hectare, to produce the best quality wine.

TASTING NOTES
With bold fruity flavours, this wine has a complexity that is typical of Malbec. Spices from the rich clay soils, and the bold flavours together make a deliciously balanced wine. This is a real crowd pleaser.

FOOD PAIRING
Goes well with steak, venison and a roasted pork. A must with earthy dishes.

FRIARWOOD SAYS
Winemaker Marcelo Pelleritti and his team are producing world class wines both in Mendoza and Bordeaux.
