ABOUT THE WINE

Founded in 1743 by Claude Moët, Moët & Chandon helped define the modern idea of Champagne, with Dom Pérignon as its flagship vintage-only cuvée since the early 20th century. Dom Pérignon 2015 comes from a warm, occasionally challenging season, yet the team was delighted with the Pinot Noir – fruity, powerful and finely structured – while Chardonnay demanded careful selection to achieve the house’s signature balance. The final blend sits close to parity (51% Pinot Noir, 49% Chardonnay) with a 4.5 g/L dosage, delivering tension, depth and precision.

TASTING NOTES

Bright and poised, the 2015 shows citrus peel, white flowers and mint, with white pepper and a chalk-slate drive. The palate is layered and energetic, its saline line extending the mid-palate into a long, sculpted finish. There’s a subtle phenolic grip that frames ripe orchard fruit, toast and delicate smoky notes – a distinctive, linear Dom Pérignon that will unfold beautifully over time.

FOOD PAIRING

Superb with seared scallops and citrus beurre blanc, turbot with beurre blanc and caviar, lobster tortellini, or truffle parmesan risotto. The wine’s saline tension also flatters oysters and refined sashimi.

FRIARWOOD SAYS

A compelling, characterful release that captures the vintage without losing the DP DNA – power from Pinot Noir, cut and finesse from Chardonnay. Critics agree: 96/100 (Galloni, Vinous) for its energy and saline backbone; 95/100 (Yohan Castaing, Decanter) for its layered, chalk-driven profile and gastronomic finish. Enjoy now or cellar 10–20 years for added complexity.
