ABOUT THE WINE
A Fifth Growth that routinely performs at Second Growth level, Château Lynch-Bages (100 ha of deep Pauillac gravel) has been shaped by the Cazes family since 1934. The warm, dry 2018 growing season delivered perfectly ripe Cabernet and small, concentrated berries, giving a wine of generous fruit, refined tannins and impressive drive.
TASTING NOTES
Inky garnet. Cassis, blackberry and black cherry layered with graphite, cedar, tobacco and cocoa. The palate is full-bodied and muscular yet sleek, with fine, abundant tannins, vibrant freshness and a long, mineral-spiced finish of cassis and pencil shavings. Decant 1–2 hours. Best 2026–2050+.
FOOD PAIRING
Roast lamb with rosemary, ribeye or côte de boeuf, venison, and wild-mushroom dishes. Excellent with firm, nutty cheeses like Comté or Gruyère.
