ABOUT THE WINE
The Capanna estate, located in the renowned Montosoli area north of Montalcino, has been owned by the Cencioni family since 1957. Founded by Giuseppe Cencioni and his sons Benito and Franco, Capanna was among the first producers to help establish the Brunello di Montalcino DOCG. Today, the family continues to oversee both viticulture and winemaking, following a traditional, quality-driven approach. While best known for their structured reds, Capanna also produces rare and refined whites like this Moscadello di Montalcino Late Harvest 2019 — an elegant, sweet wine crafted from the Muscat grape in limited quantities.
TASTING NOTES
This golden-hued Italian dessert wine is richly aromatic, with expressive notes of acacia honey, apricots, ripe pear, candied fruit, and floral Muscat character. The palate offers balanced sweetness, lifted by fresh acidity and finishing with a long, complex note of burnt toffee. Exceptionally persistent and beautifully layered.
FOOD PAIRING
An ideal companion to herbed or aged cheeses, biscotti, honey-based desserts, or light sponge cakes. Also a wonderful alternative to more traditional dessert wines like Sauternes or Tokaji.

In a region dominated by Brunello di Montalcino, white wines like this are increasingly rare, with many vineyards converted to Sangiovese. This late harvest Muscat is a true gem — refined, distinctive, and rarely found on export markets like the UK.
