ABOUT THE WINE
Vinchio Vaglio (founded 1959) champions the steep, sun-drenched hills of Monferrato and neighbouring classic zones of Piedmont. This 2021 Barbaresco DOCG is crafted from 100% Nebbiolo and matured for the appellation’s required minimum 26 months (including time in large oak), bottling the estate’s precise, elegant take on this iconic terroir.
TASTING NOTES
A youthful, lifted Barbaresco with rose petal, violet and dried cherry, followed by orange peel, anise and subtle spice. The palate is medium-bodied and finely structured, showing redcurrant and sour-cherry fruit wrapped in tightly knit, chalky tannins and a fresh, saline finish. Decant 30–45 minutes. Drink now–2031+.
FOOD PAIRING
Superb with tajarin ragù, braised beef or veal, guinea fowl, game birds, and mature hard cheeses.
