ABOUT THE WINE
Roebuck Estates is quickly establishing itself as a standout name in English sparkling wine. While relatively young (their oldest vines were planted in 2006), the estate now boasts over 200,000 vines across four exceptional vineyard sites in Sussex. With classic Champagne varieties—Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier—thriving in diverse soils and cool-climate conditions, Roebuck is producing wines that rival top traditional-method sparkling from France. The 2018 vintage is a prime example of their precise, quality-driven winemaking approach. Aged on the lees for over 36 months, this wine delivers richness and refinement in equal measure.
TASTING NOTES
Bright golden in colour with fine, persistent bubbles. The nose offers a medley of citrus peel, baked apple, and freshly baked brioche. On the palate, it is crisp yet generous, showing layers of lemon curd, toasted almonds, and pastry cream, balanced by a clean mineral finish. Partial fermentation in French oak barrels adds complexity and texture without overpowering the vibrant fruit.
