ABOUT THE WINE
The name La Conseillante dates to the mid-18th century, when Madame Catherine Conseillan stewarded this storied Pomerol estate. Owned by the Nicolas family since 1871, its vineyard parcels have remained essentially unchanged—an unbroken thread of terroir and family continuity now into a fifth generation. The 2014 vintage is a poised, classically styled La Conseillante that highlights the estate’s hallmark finesse and perfume.
TASTING NOTES
A luminous ruby-plum hue with an elegant, expressive bouquet of violet, rose, red plum and black cherry, layered with liquorice, graphite and gentle toast. The palate is medium-bodied and silky, marrying ripe red-black fruit with fine, chalk-toned tannins and a vibrant line of freshness. Long, savoury-mineral finish—refined, aromatic and beautifully balanced. (Typical blend for 2014: Merlot dominant with Cabernet Franc.)
FOOD PAIRING
Superb with roast lamb or beef, game birds, mushroom dishes and truffle-accented risottos. Also excellent with hard cheeses such as Comté or aged Gouda.

A classic Right Bank 2014: graceful, fragrant and built for the table. Decant 45–60 minutes if opening now; drink 2024–2038+ as tertiary complexity unfolds.
