ABOUT THE WINE
La Dame de Montrose 2019 is the second wine of the renowned Second Growth Château Montrose in Saint-Estèphe. Benefitting from rigorous selection under the Bouygues family (owners since 2006) and a modernised cellar, it offers a supple, earlier-drinking expression of the estate’s great gravel-over-clay terroir beside the Gironde. The 2019 vintage—one of Montrose’s standouts of the decade—was harvested 19 Sept–8 Oct and vinified parcel-by-parcel. Final blend: 48% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc, 4% Petit Verdot.
TASTING NOTES
Classically Saint-Estèphe yet welcoming in youth: red and black cherry, cassis and plum meet hints of violet, graphite, cedar and liquorice. The palate is medium to full-bodied, combining precision and concentration with ripe, well-knit tannins and a vibrant line of freshness. Finishes long and poised, with lingering dark-fruit and savoury spice.
FOOD PAIRING
Perfect with grilled or roast lamb, rib-eye steak, beef daube or game birds. Also excellent with wild-mushroom dishes and firm, aged cheeses such as Comté or Cheddar.

A superb “9” vintage for La Dame—polished, precise and immediately drinkable, yet structured to improve. Decant 30–60 minutes if opening now. Drink 2024–2034+.
