ABOUT THE WINE
Bodegas Francisco Casas, founded in 1942 by Francisco Casas Gómez, remains a proudly family-run estate, now led by Eduardo Casas, the fourth generation. Located in the Toro DO in northwest Spain, the estate spans over 10 hectares surrounding the cellar. The region benefits from a continental climate with strong Atlantic and Douro River influences, creating the ideal conditions for producing powerful, age-worthy reds. Toro has a rich viticultural history that dates back to pre-Roman times, and Abba Toro Reserva 2017 is a modern expression of that deep-rooted tradition.
TASTING NOTES
This bold Tempranillo-based Reserva offers an explosive nose of ripe red fruit, liquorice, and a harmonious blend of spice, toast, and dark chocolate. On the palate, it's full-bodied and structured, with flavours of fruit liqueur, roasted cocoa, and a savoury undertone. Aged in oak, this is a complex and richly textured Spanish red wine with great ageing potential.
FOOD PAIRING
Perfect with Texas-style spice-rubbed ribs, grilled corn, or any decadent barbecue feast. Also excellent with grilled chorizo, smoky brisket, or lamb kebabs.
