ABOUT THE PRODUCER
Winemakers in Burgundy since 1453, the current generation of the Nudant family manages some 16 hectares of small parcels dotted throughout the Cote d'Or. Vineyard work is all carried out by hand, in the spirit of minimal intervention. The vines for this Pernand Vergelesses Blanc are situated in the village of Chorey-les-Beaune.
On the nose, this white Burgundy entices with a bouquet of citrus zest, white peach, and subtle floral undertones, enhanced by hints of hazelnut and toasted almond. The palate is bright and refreshing, showcasing a finely tuned balance of fruit, minerality, and well-integrated oak. As the wine opens up, nuances of green apple, lemon curd, and a touch of brioche emerge, leading to a lingering, satisfying finish.
This refined wine pairs well with dishes that complement its complexity and depth, such as grilled monkfish with a lemon caper sauce, crab and asparagus risotto, or goat cheese and caramelized onion tart. Its elegance also lends itself to a beautifully plated sushi or sashimi selection.
A less common white wine village, Pernand Vergelesses offers impeccable complexity and quality for the price point.
