A master of white Burgundy, Benjamin Leroux is a winemaker that exclusively focuses on the purity of fruit and balanced oak integration to keep all components of the wine in harmonious balance. Lately, one of the hottest names in Burgundy and a must-try.TASTING NOTES
Sourced from a relatively high-altitude vineyard, the freshness of citrus and salinity is on the main stage here. The ageing is done in small and bigger oak barrels, with 15% new wood. A wine to enjoy now with its pure freshness, but has the definite capability to age for another decade to reveal charming, developed dried fruit notes. Notes of round buffalo butter, Greek yoghurt and Madagascar vanilla in the finish prove that it’s still very much a decadent white Burgundy.FOOD PAIRING
Moules mariniere, Seared scallops with hollandaise sauce and shredded fennel
Still a relatively undiscovered producer, Benjamin Leroux can offer excellent value for his top-end white Burgundies.
