ABOUT THE WINE
Vincent Prunier has come a long way since 1988 when he had only 2 hectares. Just over 30 years later he now has 13 hectares in Auxey-Duresses, Saint Romain, Meursault, Chassagne, Puligny and Saint Aubin. By the end of the 1990s, the quality was noticeable, this was achieved through working hard on the soils and reducing the yields.
TASTING NOTES
Golden colour. The nose of white flowers, grapefruit, fresh almonds and apricot evolved towards hazelnuts and dried fruit. The mouth is rich with some peach and toasted notes. Finishing with minerality.
FOOD PAIRING
Pair with full-flavoured fish like mackerel, salmon and white meats in cream sauces.
FRIARWOOD SAYS
Saint Aubin borders both Chassagne- and Puligny-Montrachet, yet the best St-Aubins cost a fraction of the price.
