ABOUT THE WINE
Founded in 1942 by Francisco Casas Gómez, the bodega is still a family run winery, with the fourth generation now in charge. The vineyards cover more than 10 hectares, surrounding the cellar. The climate is continental with influence from the Atlantic and the River Douro, there are extreme contrasts in temperature during winter and summer. There is a great winemaking tradition in this area, which predates the Roman era. Eduardo Casas has now taken over the Bodega to continue the next generation of the Casas legacy.
Pale yellow colour. Nice intrinsic richness. On the nose can be found aromas of fresh citrus and grapefruit. Lots of ripe lemon on the palate too but also balanced with a rich creamy finish.
Delicious with barbecued fish and other seafood, especially when the dish is a little spicy.
Malvasia is a catch-all name for a family of very closely related grape-varieties with similar characteristics, which originate from Crete.
