ABOUT THE WINE
Confiscated from the Carmelite monks during the French Revolution, Château Rieussec saw a series of owners over the subsequent centuries until it was acquired by Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite) in 1984. Rigorous grape-selection, longer barrel-ageing and meticulous quality-control enhanced the reputation and prestige of the estate.
TASTING NOTES
Crême-caramel; a deep, nutty character from this vintage. Full-bodied and decadent, with honey and wood, balanced by impressive freshness. Long and complex on the finish.
FOOD PAIRING
Excellent with blue cheese or foie gras. Lemon-meringue would also be an excellent pairing.

This wine spent extra time in barrel to tame the effects of the warm vintage.
