ABOUT THE WINE
Legend has it that Chateau Talbot takes its name from an ancient British soldier, Connetable Talbot. In 1453, Talbot was killed during the battle in the fight at Castillon and the estate was named in his honor. Chateau Talbot remained in the hands of the d'Aux-Lally family until 1917, when the Cordier family bought the property. Recently they modernised the cellar and abandoned old wine-making practices.

TASTING NOTES
A nose of lead pencil, ester and rich, saddled leather. Round and balanced in the mouth. Sweet cherry on the finish that extends to spices! Bravo Talbot.

FOOD PAIRING
Charcuterie, lamb or aged cheeses. Perfection.

FRIARWOOD SAYS
Talbot has a reputation for consistency and is one of the most carefully made and reliable of the Saint-Julien Cru Classé clarets.
