ABOUT THE WINE
Valle Andino was acquired in the early 1990s, with the first vintage being produced in the Maule Valley region in 1994. Since the acquisition Valle Andino has expanded into Colchagua, Casablanca Valleys, these vineyards now cover over 450 hectares. Maule Valley is the largest wine producing area in Chile, with a tradition which dates back as far as the 17th Century. The Colchagua Valley, lies in the heart of Central Valley, it is a sub-region of the Rapel Valley wine growing region. The climate is heavily influenced by the Pacific Ocean; morning fogs, temperate summers, day, night temperature variations, are some characteristics of this region. This region has a reputation for producing high quality Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Carmenere, Malbec and Syrah.

TASTING NOTES
With blue and red hues, pleasant notes of red fruits, raspberries and soft touch of smoke and graphite, with soft tannins and medium acidity.

FOOD PAIRING
It is ideal with oriental spicy food.

FRIARWOOD SAYS
The wine is produced at 95% Syrah and 5% Carmenere. 10% of the wine is aged in small American oak barrels for 3 months.
