ABOUT THE SPIRIT
Founded in 2011, in Evanston, Illinois, just north of Chicago, a town which at the beginning of the 20th Century was the headquarters of the Prohibition movement in the United States. Indeed, the name FEW is drawn from the initials of Francis Elizabeth Willard, a prominent temperance campaigner and suffragette. Batch-distilled in small quantities, with the most of the processing done on-site.
TASTING NOTES
Cinnamon, charcoal and wood spice aromas, with toffee apple and vanilla hiding beneath. The palate is powerful, with black pepper character from the rye, and the classic Bourbon flavours of old wood and pipe-tobacco smoke. The flavours linger on the palate, with a slow-fading fiery finish.
FOOD PAIRING
Big and beautiful; this is ideal for everything from a premium cocktail ingredient (best Old Fashioned ever!) to sipping, ideally with a little water.
FRIARWOOD SAYS
A three-grain mash-bill of corn, malted barley and northern rye (the last ingredient adding a spicy character typical of rye grown in cooler climates.
