Classified as a 2eme Cru classe Chateau Ducru-Beaucaillou (meaning beautiful pebbles) is own by the Borie family.The 50 hectares situated in the south east of the St Julien appellation. The vineyards are planted on well drained gravel with stones up to 2.5 inches in diameter and the vines' average age in 2010 was 43 years.

One of the stars of the vintage, and a remarkable achievement in 2008, with impressive richness, this dense purple colored wine is almost as opaque as the 2010.
