The Pastor Diaz family have been growing vines and making wine in Rioja for over two centuries. The company is still in family hands, and is now run by the fourth successive Gonzalo Pastor!

Only the great reserva wines, made in the exceptional years can become gran reservas.

Made in the same way as the reservas, it is the ageing process which will make the difference. In these wines, the time in the barrel stretches to 36 months and it will spend at least another 30 months minimum rounding off in the bottle before release for sale.

Ruby red, with an amber-orange rim and slight glints of brick red

On the nose it surprises you by still displaying ripe dark fruit very well assembled with hints of vanilla, spices and balsamic aromas over an elegant and complex base dominated by minerals, tobacco and stewed fruit.

It has a full, balanced mouth-feel with good acidity despite its age and silky smooth tannins. It reveals all its elegance culminating in a long, lingering finish and aftertaste.
