RANSOM WINES – MATAKANA
Ransom wines, based in Matakana, North Island, is a superstar of the Auckland Wine Region. Established in 1993 they have developed a reputation for producing premium wines by husband and wife team Robin and Gabriel Ransom. This family enterprise are specialist in the classic French varieties and all their grapes are grown in the Mahurangi River Vineyard in the Matakana-Mahurangi region just north of Auckland. These wines have great elegance and finesse based firmly in the philosophy of respecting the unique soil, climate, topography and vineyard management which makes this area of New Zealand so unique.

51 %Cabernet Sauvignon, 41%Cabernet Franc, 8% Malbec. Deep ruby in colour, with a bouquet of perfumed spices and berries. Soft and fine textured with a generous, earthy warmth, this premium wine has an elegance and balance that makes for an excellent food wine.
