Domaine de la Citadelle Luberon, Cotes du Luberon Cuvee Domaine 'Les Artemes' 2001

“Yves Rousset-Rouard made his first wine only ten years ago and he takes great pride in
the fact that his Domaine is now recognized as a model for the Côtes du Luberon
appellation. Yves is especially proud of his achievement as he did not choose the easiest
path to fulfil his old dream of becoming a vigneron. He loves to say that, having become
successful with his communications company, it would have been easier to purchase a
chateau in Bordeaux. But he knew that he would not be happy without a new challenge
and that putting on someone else’s slippers was not what he was after. Having decided
to create his own Domaine, Yves chose a beautiful region full of promise, a region that
he loved and believed in: the Mediterranean Luberon, where he already owned a lovely
mediaeval house called la Citadelle in Menerbes. In 1989, Yves acquired a handsome
Provencal farmhouse surrounded by 20 acres of vineyards, the core of today’s Domaine
de la Citadelle. Fifteen years later his son Alexis is working with him and the Estate has
grown to a respectable 110 acres. With its 65 parcels, the Domaine represents well the
various types of soil and elevations of the Luberon appellation, without which Yves
Rousset-Rouard could not have satisfied his quest for excellence." Jacques Dupuy, 2002.

Ripe and spicy. Sweet fruits with a touch of liquorice and lively round finish.
