CHATEAU CALON SEGUR – 3eme CRU CLASSE
One of Saint Estephes leading crus, and the most northerly classified growth in the Medoc. The estate is still run by the Caspbern-Gasquerton family who purchased the estate in the early 19th Century.
Traditional techniques are still favoured over more high tech production methods, meaning that the wines are very characterful and reflect the vintages very well. Calon-Segur drinks very well young, but lasts well, developing great complexity and finesse over time.
