Chateau Mille Roses, 2004

Chateau Mille Roses, 2004

CHATEAU MILLE ROSES-HAUT MEDOC

This is one of the rising stars of Haut-Médoc. Owned by Monsieur David Faure, this beautiful estate covers 5 hectares in the Haut-Médoc. The vines are planted in the following proportions: 65% Merlot (unusual for the left bank), 25% Cabernet Franc and 10% Petit Verdot. The gravelly soil and the twenty-five year-old vines give this wine its unique character. The property is close to Château Giscours and Château Cantemerle. This wine is superb and a property to keep an eye on.

2004-Decanting recommended for this. Coffee, black cherry and a touch of toastiness, there is a noted freshness to the vintage, though the wine still has good weight.  Last tasted Jan 2009.
