Friarwood, always looking for the best wine producers to the four corners of the world...

New Chablis Producer
Friarwood wines are proud to announce the arrival of our new Chablis range. We have listed the wines of Jean-Pierre Alexandre Ellevin. The wines are incredibly classic, very expressive of the region and beautifully balanced. We have listed his Chablis 1er Cru Vaucoupin, his Chablis 1er Cru Vosgros, his Petit Chablis, and his Chablis, which is also available in half bottles.

New Kiwi Sauvignon Blanc
We have just taken delivery of our newest wine, an outstanding Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough in New Zealand, Navrina Cove. This has been made exclusively for Friarwood by Marlborough native David Clouston. The fruit has been sourced from the famous Wairau and Awatere Valleys, and will be joined by its brother a Pinot Noir in 2010.

Exciting New Italian and Spanish Arrivals
We are delighted to announce the arrival of Pignataro in our wine list, a new producer from the Abruzzo region whose Montepulciano and Trebbiano seduced us. Let yourself be tempted by these wines, you will enjoy them!

Fratelli Serio & Battista Borgogno from the Cannubi region in the heart of Barolo - have been making excellent Barbera d'Alba and Barolo for around 100 years.

We are also pleased to announce the arrival of a raft of new Riojas called Valdejimena from Bodegas Pastor Diaz. They produce top quality Rioja, from their entry level Valdejimena Rioja Tempranillo 2009, up to the flagship Valdejimena Rioja Gran Reserva 2001

2007 Southern Rhone-Vintage of a Lifetime
Last week wine writer Robert Parker proclaimed the 2007 vintage in Southern Rhone ‘the vintage of a lifetime... A hypothetical blend of a very hot yet opulent, powerful, sumptuous year such as 1990 and a cooler, drought and Mistral-affected vintage such as 2001... A truly historic and profoundly great vintage... Unforgettable'. We have recently taken in the new vintage of our Gigondas 2007from Domaine du Grand Montmirailand we would be inclined to agree with him.
