We have just taken delivery of our newest wine, an outstanding Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough in New Zealand, Navrina Cove. This has been made exclusively for Friarwood by Marlborough native David Clouston. The fruit has been sourced from the famous Wairau and Awatere Valleys, and will be joined by its brother a Pinot Noir in 2010.
Last week wine writer Robert Parker proclaimed the 2007 vintage in Southern Rhone ‘the vintage of a lifetime... A hypothetical blend of a very hot yet opulent, powerful, sumptuous year such as 1990 and a cooler, drought and Mistral-affected vintage such as 2001... A truly historic and profoundly great vintage... Unforgettable.' We have recently taken in the new vintage of our Gigondas 2007, from Domaine du Grand Montmirail and we would be inclined to agree with him .

We are also pleased to announce the arrival of a raft of new Riojas called Valdejimena from Bodegas Pastor Diaz. They produce top quality Rioja, from their entry level Valdejimena Rioja Tempranillo 2007, up to the flagship Valdejimena Rioja Gran Reserva 2000.
