Our underground cellar, found in the heart of London, stores more than 15,000 bottles that are ready to be shipped directly to your door or purchased from our retails shops in Parsons Green and Wimbledon Village.
Ben is a Landscape Architect who studied in the wine industry in North America before pursuing his Masters in Bordeaux. Interning at Friarwood gave Ben a good understanding of the London wine industry, before eventually becoming On-trade Sales Manager. Since 2015, he is now the owner and Managing Director.
Born and raised on a Premier Grand Cru Classe estate in St. Emilion, Auriane knows her wines. Bringing her experience and love for wine to Friarwood, she not only heads up our Purchasing Department, she brings a wealth of knowledge and passion that helps drive our business.
Diana comes from Transylvania, the most famous region of Romania and has been living in London for the last 4 years. Diana has a banking and financial background, currently working towards her ACCA qualification. She joined Friarwood as Financial Controller in 2016 and took responsibility for all accounting activities.
Originally from Bulgaria, Vessy recently made the decision to move from Canada to London. Her passion for marketing began during her University studies, where she graduated with a Bachelor in Commerce. With over 5 years of Marketing related experience, Vessy has an enthusiastic approach towards pushing the business forward and of course discovering Bulgarian wines.
Born in Kosovo but with over 20 years of experience working in some of the top restaurants throughout London, Toni has brought his management skills, energy and enthusiasm to Friarwood.
Born in the North France, Maxime completed his Sommelier diploma in the city of Lille. Having worked for the well-known Three Michelin starred restaurant the Waterside Inn as a Head Sommelier, he has a great understanding of fine dining and fine wines. Always willing to share his passion for wine, Maxime brings an expertise and a great experience to the On-trade team, providing top service and advice.
As a sommelier and manager, with over 30 years of industry experience, Patrice brings his wine stewardship and extensive knowledge about wine and food pairings to the team. Having joined Friarwood in 2014, as Retail Manager and Sommelier Adviser, Patrice can be found most days in the shop with an open bottle of wine for sampling.
Ornella jumped in the world of wine at 17 while finishing her languages studies. After getting her sommelier diploma in Italy she moved to London at 19 and continued her studies with WSET while working in different wine companies as a shop manager. After a 4 months break travelling the world, she returned to London and the wine universe. She joined Friarwood this June and you can find her in both our shops as a retail manager, always smiling and ready to help you navigate our wine and spirit options.
Growing up in Cape Town, South Africa, Jabu has been attending wine tastings since infancy, absorbing knowledge which would come in useful after university, when he decided that his chosen field (History and Politics) was considerably less interesting than the world of wine. He has been working in the London wine trade since 2014, and with Friarwood since April 2018, and is always eager to share his fascination for wine, whisky and, indeed, everything else on our shelves
